The DC Dragon Boat Festival organized by the Chinese Women's League and then rescheduled from May 17-18 to May 31-June 1, had equal parts of pageantry and competition. GPDC decided to participate only on May 31 and then to go to Lake Mercer near Princeton, NJ, for Paddle for Pink on Sunday. Since the BCS division had to be eliminated the GPDC Festival contingent of 12 including 8 other paddlers with only two men competed in the elite mixed division!
